Pastor Angela's Message - February 2015

We serve such an awesome God!  He created every detail of life with such thought and care.  While I am not a fan of cold weather, I am a fan of the beauty in the changes of seasons.  Each season is filled with awe and wonder.  Our winters are bleak & cold until the soft winter snows come.  The world is suddenly brightened and feels alive.  While it’s been some time since I have experienced “winter”, I remember the longing for spring.  At just the right time God shoots up the crocuses.  How glorious to view these beauties popping up through the snow.  The bright and colorful Daffodils and Tulips come along as the trees begin popping with buds, flowers then leaves.  Summer is generally a lush green with a variety colors splashed throughout the landscape.  Warm & even hot to some, summer is vibrantly alive.  Many begin to desire cooler temps which come with the changing of leaves.  Fall brings a crisp colorful change just before all goes dormant again.

Just as each of these seasons appears at the right time with the right circumstances, our Lord and  Savior brings all of our circumstances together for our good.  Often life is harsh, painfully cold, and full of uncertainties just as our winters can be.   But as we lean on Christ, trust Him through the pain, and allow Him to be Lord of all we will experience the beauty of spring, the glorious relief from the torment and pain.  Even in the midst of the winter storms we can find beauty in the day as we seek the face of Jesus.  Gaze upon His face, turn the pain over to Him.  Allow Jesus Christ to work and bring the beauty from the ashes.  Isaiah prophesies Jesus’ coming and the amazing hope we have through Him.  In  Isaiah 61 we are told that He will, comfort those who mourn . . . provide for those who grieve . . . turn our mourning into gladness and give us a “garment of praise instead of despair”.   Cling to these words today!

Allow our Lord and Savior to mend your broken hearts.  Walk hand in hand with Him amidst the various storms in your life.  View each season as a gift.  Search for the beauty amidst the pain.  I promise you it’s there.  “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”  Matthew 7:7-8 He who perfectly created the seasons will perfectly answer your payers as you seek Him with all your heart.  The storms may not pass for a long season but he will turn your mourning into dancing!  Psalm 30:11 Find peace through Christ and feel alive again through His Holy Spirit.
