February 2011 - Bulletin Announcements
We are working on updates!!! If you are new to Liberty Street C.O. G. (in your mailbox is a blue sheet with needed family information). Please place these in the secretary's mailbox. Also, if you do not have a mailbox, call Tammy @ 226 - 8672. You are important to us & we need to keep you updated on all activities.
Please let the Church Office know if you would like a copy of any of our Sunday morning sermons. We send to our shut-ins on a weekly basis.
Happy 17th Birthday to... Arianna Evans! Let's all send a card to Arianna & let her know how special she is to the Liberty Street Church of God. Arianna is the grandaughter of Clarence & Shirley Evans.
Coming Up: New Comers Dinner - March 13 after Worship - We are pleased to welcome many new faces to our congregation. We want to invite you on March 13th after Worship to the Fellowship Hall for a delicious mean prepared by our Social Committee to honor you & your family. A formal invitation has been mailed to you. Food For Friends... Wednesday, February 16th @ the Methodist Church on Wood Street. Please have food items there by 4:00PM. Servers are to be there by 4:20PM. Sign up sheet in the Narthex.

Ladies...
The Caring Hands Committee is in need of an update. We need to update our list of ladies who are willing to help minister to our fellow sisters who may need some TLC. You can do this by helping provide a meal/meals to one of your sisters who may have just had a baby, or been hospitalized, or have had surgery, or a death in their family. You will never be asked to do this alone. We will co-ordinate you to work with one or two other people. Any questions? Fell free to call Judy Garris @ 764 - 6153 or Roxanne Kahle @ 226 - 5036.
Buchwitz Family Ministry will be sharing in music & testimony at the United Methodist Church in Clarion on Wood Street on February 20th @ 7PM. We would like to invite all our church family to come as we share.
It takes a Village!! Do you know what talent or business or employment each member of your church is involved in? A bulletin board will be created with church families' business information at the end of February. I encourage each of you to provide a business card or any relevant business information. This also could include babysitting information or other service items as well.
Without the knowledge of what each other does, we are not able to have the opportunity to support one another through this realm.

Women's Prayer Retreat - The Women's Group along with the Prayer Ministry Team are hosting a Women's Retreat here @ the Church on Saturday, March 12th from 11AM - 2PM. Speakers - Linda Barger in the AM & Pam Gruver in the afternoon. Childcare & Lunch will be provided. There are brochures with all information int he mailboxes as well as by each entrance. Please see the brochure & register by Sunday, March 7th if you are planning to attend.
You can also sign up for Prayer Partners today.
A Calling for Ministry - Jenna & Maya Miller would like to send items to Support their Uncle & others overseas risking their lives for us.
If you have a loved one you would like to be included in receiving these items, please see Tracy Miller or contact her @ tmhm72@yahoo.com. Please place all items in the identified box in the Narthex by the Welcome table.
Items encouraged are: Bibles, books, DVD's, snack items, puzzle books, games, cards, "Nerf balls", & other small items. Money is also appreciated to offset the cost of mailing these items; please place money in Tracy Miller's church mailbox.

Baby Bottle Boomarang ... get your baby bottles from the Narthex & fill it with your coins & prayers. Monies collected will go to the AAA Life Center on Wood Street. All bottles must be returned (full or empty) by February 13th.
Coming up... Our Annual 50 day Spiritual Adventure starting the week of February 13th. . This year the theme is "Spring Revival". We will be studying from the book "Holy Spirit Within Us" by C of G evangelist Bill Konstantopolis. We have two time frames during the week & would like to add a third: Wednesday's @ 7PM @ the Church & Sunday's @ 6:15PM @ Mike & Wendy Ferguson's house. A 3rd day will be provided according to what best accommodates the majority. If your schedule doesn't permit you to make it to one of the above time frames we want you to suggest another time for us, Please place your suggestion on the page provided & place it in the offering plate. We;ll choose the day with the most suggestions & try to make that available as another time slot. Please sign up in the Welcome Center.
Social Committee...
The Social Committee is looking for people to help with funeral dinners. There have been 3 team leaders chosen & we are looking for people to be part of a team. If you feel a calling in this area & have your mornings or afternoons available, please sign up in the Narthex to be put on a team. Questions can be directed to Debbie Martin @ 226 - 5735. We have 2 sign-up sheets in the Welcome Center for those wishing to help w/Funeral Dinners. 1 list is for helping with the dinners & a second list is for funeral dinner cake baking.
30 Hour Famine - February 25th & 26th. Our Youth Group will participate in the World Vision's 30 Hour Famine. We're getting a crash course in global hunger by fasting for 30 hours while raising money to help feed and care for hungry kids & their families around the world.
But we need your help!! We'd like the whole church to be involved in the Famine. Here's how to help us rewrite history..
1. Pray - Ask God to bless our students as they make this sacrifice & "love hungry."
2. Participate - We need volunteers to help with our Famine Weekend!
3. Give - support our students' fundraising efforts & help them change lives. For every $30 they raise can help feed & care for one child for a month!

Please be aware, we are facing a new "wonderful" problem... more children & babies than we ever imagined (but hoped for). We've grown from 9 & 11 children to 25 & 27 with the potential of up to 35. We need more body parts to support our body parts. Please keep the children coming, but wee would like to encourage retirees or empty-nesters to obey God if He has laid this ministry on your heart.
Are you creative? Use your gift by designing a bulletin board for a holiday in 2011 or for a Christian theme to encourage our church. Some materials will be provided through the church office or other resources. Contact Jacqueline Morrone @ 226 - 4035.
Divorce Care is a special weekly seminar & support group for women who are separated or divorced. Starting on Monday, January 10th @ 6PM located here @ LIBCOG. Call 814 - 226 - 8669 to register. Class size is limited, please call by January 5th.

We would like to invite the women of our sister churches of God to come & join us in this day of not only hearing from speakers of how God has brought them through tradegy through prayer & faith in him.
This is an opportunity to share with sisters in Christ so that we may all be praying for each other. We feel that there is a real need for Christian Women to be supporting & lifting up our sisters in Christ.

The cost of registration is $5.00 per person. Lunch & childcare will be provided.

Youth Update from Jonathan
Youth Opportunities:

Jr. Youth (Grades 3 - 6) - if you are in need of a winter break... you're invited to a "NEW" Winter Retreat. Coming February 11 - 13. Please see Jonathan or Blair if you are interested in going. See ya there!
I would like to say thanks to all the parents & youth who attended our recent meeting. It went very well & I appreciated everyone's input. It's exciting to see so many people willing to do anything they can to see our youth grow & mature as Christians. We have a busy year ahead of us & I think God is going to move in many ways. Please keep the events listed below in your prayers & add them to your calendars.
